I began breeding Lhasas with my parents when I was 12 years old. This experience has created a lifelong love of the breed for me. Over the years I have come to realize the difference in the dogs we bred and the ones in shows, and decided to do some research. After scouring every source I could think of, I managed to come across the original standard
for the breed and realized my dogs possessed the true characteristics of the breed! Not wanting to lose something so precious, with a desire to preserve all that is truly Lhasa, I threw away the modern standard, and began breeding for the original standard in earnest. Our goal now is to preserve the original beauty and majesty that is the fun-loving intelligent little Lhasa Apso, or Apso Seng Kyi of Tibet, and we are succeeding in this mission. We have occasionally added dogs from outside lines, but only after carefully evaluating them against the original standard, otherwise we stick to the lines we have been so fortunate to be blessed with. There are but a handful of traditional Apso breeders the world over. I'm proud to say I am one of them.
We are preserving this wonderful breed for future generations. As the 14th Dalai Lama said, great care must be taken with these dogs.
